Subject : Exclusive Welfare Centre
[b]Exclusive Welfare Centre: A Multipurpose Institution to Serve the Elderly and Society in GeneralThe Problem; Generally, our people are very caring, cooperative and supportive. We often witness a number of people from all sections of life generously contributing during particular calamities and natural disasters like devastating floods and earthquakes etc. And in normal conditions, we see a great number of our people providing needed financial assistance and help to poor and deserving people on many occasions such as Christmas, Holy Ramadan and Eid and all that. What we just need is to offer our help to needy people in a way that makes these people stand up on their feet being quite independent individuals who are capable of making their livelihood by their own in future without any outside help. Following idea is an excellent idea for those nongovernmental organizations (NGO’s) and individual donors and philanthropists who want to make a real difference in the lives of the elderly in particular and poor people in general. The Idea There is a need to establish a Welfare Centre after allocating a separate account for all donations and funds as provided by the donors. Use this special account to hire poor, needy and those aged people who have no job or other income generating resources to support themselves and their families. Nature of Work Normally, it’s a quite common phenomenon that the rich and affluent families, living in many urban localities, buy their clothes and other apparel items and use them just for a very shorter and brief period and then discard these apparels totally. Or in other conditions, they give most of their used clothing and apparels to their maids, domestic servants or peons who actually don’t need these discarded apparels. Now, here the recommended Welfare Centre comes forward. Now, the recruited old-age people are responsible to approach these families and take their used clothing and apparel items including any other used items against some money or freely for the greater cause of distributing these used apparels among those poor people, living in their vicinities, who cannot afford to buy newly-made clothing items and apparel etc. After collections, these used items will be thoroughly recycled for further usage. And after recycling, these items will be again freely distributed among needy and financially backward groups by these recruited old-age people. The recommended Welfare Centre, when having sufficient resources, could also distribute totally newly-purchased clothing items and apparels among poor people on some annual occasions like Eid, Holy Ramadan and Christmas etc. Results By doing this, we will be able to achieve many things as given in the following: • An exclusive Welfare Centre will be a concrete, structural and institutional form made by the all received funds and donations from philanthropists. • Through this specially-built Welfare Centre, generous people would be able to support needy old-age people by providing them a chance to support themselves and their families. • The recommended Welfare Centre will greatly serve those senior citizens who don’t want to take any sort of aid or other assistance and always prefer to earn by their own. • The recommended Welfare Centre will also appeal those affluent people who regular help the needy people through various ways and means but lack of available time out of their hectic schedules usually affects their welfare works. Here, they will not be required to approach the needy as old-aged workers will come to their door if they are willing to donate their used items for this greater cause. It really makes such welfare works very convenient and easier for many aspiring people. • Chiefly dedicated to own their localities and specific living areas, the recommended Welfare Centre, found in each and every town or area, would be a nice way to help our neighborhoods. • This will also boost the ego and working spirits among those people who usually do nothing and keep asking for help all the time from others.
