Centre of General Health Education: A Platform that Makes the Society Healthy, Wealthy & Wise! The Problem: Health is wealth. If you are not healthy, it means you are losing your available wealth by accessing costly medical facilities and expensive medicines. Taking care of day-to-day healthcare needs has really become a difficult task for such low-income groups and poor families who feel it quite difficult to bear inevitable expenses on medical treatments for different diseases and ailments. Thing scenario even gets worse when this low-salaried and low-income populace is bereft of any kind of social security or medical cover offered by their employers and government. It’s always necessary to keep your overall health and fitness up to the mark by having a balanced diet and clean water fully supported by regular physical exercises. This really helps us avoid any illness or physical disorder that cannot be successfully supported without consulting to qualified doctors and certified medical practitioners. This idea puts forward a basic way to keep ourselves away from doctors. It not only reduces our total dependency on doctors in meeting our healthcare needs and care, this also proposes a new role for other healthcare professionals (e.g. physiotherapists and health consultants) which will definitely benefit the society in being healthy, fit and smart all the time. The Idea: The whole gist of this idea lies in the fact that our physiotherapists and health consultants have to take some sort of responsibility in order to educate the general public regarding maintaining and improving their health and fitness via avoiding several diseases and medicines. This idea also suggests a basic change in our total lifestyles on the whole. Furthermore, the same thought can truly revolutionize the way we lead our lives in the light of the valuable guidelines, tips, and education including a spirit to lead a healthier lifestyle systematically inculcated by physiotherapists and general health consultants performing the role of health educationists. An exclusive institution called “Centre of General Health Education” should be established by qualified medical practitioners, health consultants and physical trainers etc. wherein these health professionals will provide consultancy to general people against very nominal charges. This consultancy will cover everything related with public health as given in the following: • Exercises techniques, • Desired eating habits, • Perfect diet according to the age, • Daily water consumption, • Food and their ingredients including all vegetables, fruits and dry-fruits etc., • Nutrition & standard calories requirements, • Best food selection, • Importance of using particular foods and oil on regular basis, • All other issues related with general well being of each and every member of the public All of these health issues should also be included in school syllabus so that children can get awareness about the same in very early ages. In my opinion, the best way to make the most of the proposed “Centre of General Health Education” is to offer a membership program to general public which will be equally open for all age groups and gender starting from a 6 months toddler to 70-years old granny. Under this membership program, all members will be allowed to visit the Centre once a month where they will also be given catalogues, brochures and booklets regarding the health matters as mentioned above in bullets. This consultancy can further include lots of general information and guidance about personality and character building as well. Results: If government supports this idea, the result will be a huge cut in the total health budget. Successful implementation of this idea will also steer us towards having a tension free life and a strong nation on the whole. This will also reduce our dependence on doctors and pharmacies whereas these doctors will be needed only during special surgery and emergencies.
