Description
The Bush SRP31 was produced from the late fifties to the mid sixties. These record players must have looked extremely modern in their day compared to other models, and the family resemblence can be seen in the later 41 and 51 models too. Above is an early model in brown and cream with red inlay, fitted with a Garrard 210 autochanger. The next version that arrived in the early sixties was the ''31C'' which was finished in two tone grey. Both of these have the same valve powered amplifiers and similar Garrard autochangers. The third and final ''31D'' version looked exactly the same from the outside but had a more powerful amplifier and a metallic blue BSR Monarch autochanger. The quality of all these sets is excellent as the amplifiers are very well made and give a real depth to the sound. The main speaker is only 7"x4" but gives a better sound than a lot of bigger ones and is helped by the inclusion of an electrostatic ''tweeter''. This is definitely one of the best models of the sixties and when working correctly it takes some beating.
