Recipe for Prawns Fried Rice


  • Rice ½ kg
  • Prawns ½ kg
  • Green chili 5 – 6
  • Peas 100 gm
  • Spring onions 2 – 3 (white part)
  • Red chili 1 tsp (crushed)
  • Brown sugar 1 tsp
  • Chinese salt ½ tsp
  • Garlic 2 tbsp (finely sliced)
  • Lemon juice 2 tbsp
  • Oil 2 – 3 tbsp
  • Soya sauce 3 – 4 tbsp
  • Spring onions for garnishing
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

Wash the rice and soak it in water for 2 – 3 hours then boil the rice in a saucepan.

In a pan heat 2 – 3 tbsp of oil and fry garlic for 1 – 2 minutes.

Add prawns and fry for 1 – 2 minutes.

Remove the prawns.

In the same pan add spring onions, peas , red chili, green chilies, salt, soya sauce, Chinese salt, lemon juice and brown sugar and mix well.

Add the prawns again followed by boiled rice.

Gently mix the contents together.

Dish out and garnish with spring onions.

Serve hot.
