Recipe for Seekh Kebab Gilafi


  • Lamb, minced 1 kg
  • Ginger (adrak) paste 3 tbsp
  • Brown onion paste 1 1/4 cup
  • Green chilies, minced 6
  • Garam masala 2 tsp
  • Red chili powder 2 tsp
  • Salt 2 tsp
  • Vegetable oil 3 tbsp
  • Processed cheese 3/4 cup
  • Onions, finely chopped 1 cup
  • Capsicum(finely chopped) 100 g
  • Butter for basting
  • Tomatoes(deseeded) 100 g

Cooking Directions

Mix the lamb mince with ginger paste, brown onion paste, green chilies, garam masala, red chili powder, salt, oil, and processed cheese.

Mix together onions, capsicum, and tomatoes.

Squeeze out the excess water, if any, from the mince mixture and mix thoroughly.

Keep aside for 2 hours.

Shape the mince mixture along the length of the skewers and coat with the vegetable mixture.

Roast in a tandoor / oven / grill for 10 - 15 minutes, basting with butter at regular intervals.

Remove from skewers and serve hot.
