Recipe for Chocolate Flan Cake


  • For Cake:
  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix (415g)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (optional)
  • For Flan:
  • 100g cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 320g can sweetened condensed milk
  • 300g can evaporated milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla essences

Cooking Directions

Grease and dust flour a large bundt pan.

In a bowl add cake mix, water, oil, eggs mix well with a whisk, till combined.

Add the caramel sauce in the bundt pan and add the cake mix on in, keep aside.

In a blender jug add cream cheese, eggs, vanilla, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk and blend till combined, pour this mixture on the cake mixture.

Cover the bundt pan with foil.

Take a roasting pan fill it with boiling water till it is 2 inch high, place the bundt pan in the middle.

Careful pick the roasting pan on place it on the middle rack of the oven, and bake for 1 & 1/2 hour to 2 hours, or check after 1 & 1/2 hour with a knife in the center of the cake comes out clean it is done.

Then remove the bundt pan from the roasting pan and remove the foil and leave to cool for 2 to 3 hours.

Now turn oven the bundt pan on the serving plate.

Serve and enjoy.
