Recipe for Behari Chicken Karahi


  • Chicken 1 kg (cut in 12 pieces)
  • Ginger & garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Cashew nuts 10
  • Gram flour 2 tbsp (dry roasted)
  • Cumin seeds 2 tsp (dry roasted & crushed)
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  • Fried onions grounded 3 tbsp
  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • To Serve:
  • Coal 1 piece
  • Onion rings 1 large
  • Green chili 3
  • Fresh coriander 3 tbsp

Cooking Directions

Marinate chicken with all ingredients mix and leave it for 1 hour.

Heat oil.

Add the marinated chicken mix and cook on high flame, then cover and cook on low to medium flame till the oil comes on surface and chicken is tender, then add coriander leaves.

Heat the coal and place it on the curry.

Serve with onion rings, green chili.

Serve hot with roti.
