Recipe for Besan Ki Tikkyan

Ingredients

  • Gram flour 2 cups
  • Sugar 1 ½ cup
  • Semolina ½ cup
  • Kewra few drops
  • Clarified butter 1 cup
  • Milk ½ cup
  • Desiccated coconut ½ cup
  • Blanched and chopped almonds 10
  • Blanched and chopped pistachios 15
  • Cardamoms 4
  • Sugar 1 tsp

Cooking Directions

Grind cardamoms and sugar together in a grinder.

Heat oil in a wok and stir in cardamoms to crackle.

Now gently add in the gram flour and semolina and cook well.

When it seems well done, take it out in a bowl and add water and sugar to the wok to make the sugar syrup.

As the sugar syrup starts to take form, add in the cooked gram flour and semolina and mix vigorously.

Now add in milk and stir well for a few more minutes.

Finally take it out on a greased tray and spread evenly.

Sprinkle with almonds, pistachios and desiccated coconut and let it set.
