Recipe for Southern Fried Rice


  • Onion sliced 1
  • Red capsicum 1
  • Carrot 1
  • Egg 2
  • Green chilies chopped 3
  • Boiled bean 125 gm
  • Boiled peas ½ cup
  • Garlic 3 – 4 cloves
  • Ginger chopped 1 piece
  • Rice 300 gm
  • Prawns 300 gm
  • Black pepper 1 tsp
  • Lemon skin 1 tsp
  • Chili garlic sauce 2 tbsp
  • Soya sauce 2 tbsp
  • Worchester shire sauce 2 tbsp
  • Oil 3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Directions

Boil 300 gm rice and keep aside.

Cut 1 onion, 1 capsicum, 125 gm green beans, 3 green chilies and 1 carrot into julienne.

In a wok heat 3 tbsp oil, add 1 piece of chopped ginger and 3 – 4 cloves of garlic.

Fry well till golden brown.

Now add 300 gm prawns, fry well till its color turn to white.

Now add all the sliced vegetables.

Also add ½ cup boiled peas and cook for 2 – 3 minutes.

Add in 2 beaten eggs.

Now add 300 gm boiled rice, salt to taste, 2 tbsp Worchester shire sauce, 2 tbsp soya sauce and 1 tsp crushed black pepper.

Mix well and dish it out. Serve hot.
