Recipe for Kala Chana Gravy

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg black chick peas, boiled
  • 1/2cup oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 6 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 bunch coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 2 tsp cumin powder
  • 2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp hot spices powder
  • 1/2 tsp carom seeds
  • 1 tsp salt

Cooking Directions

Heat oil in a pan or a deep skillet. Fry chopped onion for 4-5 minutes or golden brown.

Now blend brown onion with tomatoes until smooth.
Take it out in a bowl.

In the remaining oil, add tomato onion paste, red chili powder, salt,turmeric, coriander powder and ginger garlic paste.

Cook for 5-8 minutes then add boiled chickpeas.
Mix well.

Grind together cumin seeds, whole coriander, fennel seeds and carom seeds.

Add green chilies, coriander leaves, hot spices powder and fried masala in chick peas.

Stir well. Turn the heat of. Kala Chana Gravy is ready now. Serve with Chapati.
