He delivered an emotional speech to players before telling them about his likely retirement.Pakistan team had a terrible World T20 campaign losing teo matches against India and New Zealand after thumping relatively weak opposition Bangladesh. Waqar was also team’s coach during World Cup 2011 when Pakistan lost to India in the semi-finals at Mohali. He had also resigned as the coach following the defeat and reportedly applied for coaching with Australia. But he was not considered.
