Subject : Afridi hits back at reporter over ‘self-performance’ question
Afridi was addressing a presser in Lahore today. Journalist asked the Pakistan star cricketer “Do you think you need to improve your performance after Pakistan’s decline in T20 rankings from number 2 to number 6.” Afridi went berserk on the question and replied, “Aapse aise ghatiya sawaal ki hi umeed thi” (I expected such a crap question from you.)He also lent his support to Amir, saying he deserved a chance as he has served his complete sentence in the spot fixing scandal. He took exception to other duo of the scandal – Muhammad Asif and Salman Butt – and said they kept lying about their involvement in the scandal and criticized the team on TV channels. He said international cricket is all about handling pressure and the team who excels in it will do the best in world T20. “I hopefully see my team to play the final of World T20.” He hinted that he would prefer batting after 12th over in a T20.
