Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is the son of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and ex-President Asif Ali Zardari. The current Chairman of Pakistan People's Party, he completed his Masters Degree from Oxford University in May.

Raheel Sharif

Currently serving as the 15th Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan. He assumed his office in November 2013 and has a prominent military background. Under his leadership, the army launched the successful Operation Zarb-e-Azb against militants. He is set to retire in November 2016.


Malala Yousafzai


An 18 year-old child activist and Nobel laureate, Malala completed her O-levels this year with flying colours. She scored an impressive 6A*s and 4As in her examinations. Her towering list of achievements include not just winning the Nobel Prize, but also having an asteroid named after her. He Named Me Malala, a documentary made on her life, was released this year to critical approval.


Reham Khan


Reham Khan has been in the spotlight throughout the year for her marriage-and subsequent divorce, to PTI chairman Imran Khan. A journalist by profession, Reham was a weathergirl for the BBC, when she decided to come to Pakistan and became a current affairs talkshow host.

Sabeen Mahmud

Sabeen Mahmud was a human rights activists and director of non-government organization named "The Second Floor". She was shot dead by unknown assailants in April. Her NGO provided a platform for social change through rich cultural activities, public discourse, and advocacy using progressive ideas and the new media.

Younis Khan

Younis Khan became the first Pakistani batsman to score 9,000 runs in test cricket during a test match against England in October. He also holds the honour of scoring a century against every test playing side.

Imran Khan

Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan is the chief of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, the third-largest political party of Pakistan. The Oxford student soon grew into a legendary cricketer and became the only Pakistani captain in 1992 to win the cricket world cup for the country. His party forms the provincial government in Pakistan's violence-prone Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
