Dear Sheeba.. this has been discussed earlier also, but unfortunately adding the chat room has few disadvantages, first of all it requires regular monitoring and someone has to actually sit there and watch the chatroom for any abuse & etc.
Secondly, if people start using the chatroom there are possible changes that they will not post on forums,which will eventually make the forum less interesting. The best part about these discussion forums is that no matter whenever you visit you and read the full topic and join the conversation, but for chatroom if you come late.. you will miss the concept and hence there will be no purpose left then.
