In SURE Congress 2016 new chapter (SURE South Asia) has been established recently . The member countries are Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives. This chapter is organizing its First Regional Conference in one of the biggest urban centers of the region. This is an invitation to study processes and patterns of both urban development and urban ecology at “living places” during field trips. The local host, the Department of Geography of the University of Karachi, is the pioneer of research in “Urban Ecology” in the city.
Two-day conference will be structured in six thematic sessions. 4 keynote speakers, 2 plenary speakers and 2 other international invited speakers will grace these sessions. Each session will then follow-up with other open presentations. Full program will be announced soon.

*Agricultural landscape of Karachi
*New DHA City (A planned housing society situated at the fringe of the city)
Two-day training workshop will be conducted on Mapping Species on the software MAXENT on 21-22 January 2017.
