One fine morning, Mustafa Kamal woke up in his Dubai flat and decided to come back to Pakistan to save Urdu speaking community of Karachi. On the same fine morning, Anees Qaim Khani had the same dream and so both bolted to airport together leaving everything behind. Frankly it’s hard to believe Mustafa Kamal’s reason for return but what he said resonated with every one in Karachi and Pakistan. Establishment might be behind him if history is any teacher, but then so what? If he manages to cleanse Karachi from Altaf’s impact then it would be a win win for everyone. Mustafa Kamal has surely touched the chords with Urdu community with his long touching presser yesterday.
We all knew actually what he said but when it gets spoken by someone like Mustafa Kamal who has seen it all, been there then it matters a lot and it means a lot. His point that what youth of Karachi has gained by becoming criminals and RAW agents? Only gain for MQM is that Altaf, his relatives and his close aides have been able to live luxurious lives in London and elsewhere. MQM’s coordination committee has as usual come out defending the psycho in London because they have no other option and they don’t have the guts like Mustafa Kamal to call a spade a spade. Ok, its establishment behind him, then what? It doesn’t dilute what Mustafa Kamal has said about Altaf and MQM and it’s agenda. Mustafa Kamal has the charisma, salient background and proven track record to not only emerge as a serious alternate to MQM but also even win hearts and votes at the national level.
