Hanif Abbasi has been working hard, very hard for the last 2 and half years after loosing general election from NA-56 to Imran Khan in 2013. He lost with a narrow margin and since then has been active like a manic in the constituency. Hanif Abbasi has been fully supported by the top leadership of PMLN because he is the one who challenged Imran Khan, the chief of PTI who is arch rival of PMLN leadership. Imran Khan as a party chief wasn’t able to give ample time to this area and left it to the local leadership. Hanif Abbasi was given unlimited funds by the chief minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and Abbasi has spent all of them on hospitals, schools, parks, stadiums, street lights, severage, clean water, and above all the Rawalpindi Metro bus project.
He worked like a man on mission on this project and completed it in record time. Now hundreds of thousands of people travel daily on this metro bus system from Pindi to Islamabad and back after paying a nominal fare. The travel is smooth, quick, decent, air-conditioned and very enjoyable. But will metro win Pindi local elections for PMLN. Rawalpindi local bodies elections 2015 result is going to be very interesting. Besides of ignoring the constituency, Imran Khan also faces split within PTI. But still PTI is considered as hot favorite because Pindi is garrison town and establishment is close to the Imran Khan and his party. So all eyes are on the Pindi elections tomorrow.
